
GasAtacama and the Community
GasAtacama attaches great importance to its active role in the country´s development reflected in its constant support in issues such as education, technical and vocational training in and grass roots community development, both inside and outside the company such iniciatives can be seen in the work done year after year with the community of Mejillones, or Post Earthquake of February 27, 2010 in the Bolleruca communities of Caleta Las Peñas and for the Hospital of Arauco, as well as through partnerships with the communities of Salta and Jujuy (Argentina) during 2011.

GasAtacama is committed to an ethical company policy that contributes to the development of Mejillones and the quality of life for its workers and the wider community.
The end result of this commitment is to strengthen and manage labor relations in a responsible manner, as well as relations with the families and Mejillones community, by recognizing their needs and expectations and adopting policies that ensure mutual benefit and trust in the company.

As a result of the earthquake and tsunami that affected the central-south region of Chile on 27th February 2010, GasAtacama provided help with equipment for portable desalination:
